The 70th meeting of the Directors General (DGs) of EUPAN – an informal network of the DGs responsible for public administration in the EU Member States and the European Commission – was held in Sofia as part of the Bulgarian Presidency of the Council of the European Union. The event was hosted by the “Modernisation of Administration” Directorate of the Bulgarian Council of Ministers.
The discussions started with a presentation of the goals, direction and stages of the administrative reform in Bulgaria. Four thematic priorities defined by the Bulgarian EUPAN team were at the centre of the workshops – innovative policy labs, new methods for effective selection and recruitment, improving service delivery standards, the role of Secretaries General in organisational development and internal coordination. As a result, recommendations for sharing good practices and seeking common principles for the quality of public service delivery were formulated. The future of the EUPAN website and data management were additional topics during the discussion.
The meeting of the DGs ended with a presentation of the priorities of the upcoming Austrian Presidency of the Council of the EU.
